It has a flatbed scanner in front for handling books and magazines and a 50 sheet ADF at the back to handle individual documents. It can detect any misplacement of paper with its ultrasonic sensor and uses reverse rolling technology to handle different types of materials. It can scan anything from very long documents to credit cards made of plastic. It has a maximum resolution of 600 dpi and detects color automatically. The price ranges from $1300-$1400.
Then, there is Canon – imageFORMULA DR-3010C, which is a high speed and high volume document scanner. It is said to be the quickest scanner as it can scan almost thirty double sided pages per minute and has the ability to scan about 3000 documents in a day. It is mainly designed to be used in applications with a high volume of document management. Its size is fairly small and has USB 2.0 connectivity to a PC. It is not suitable for scanning books or other heavy bounded materials. Paper jams are very infrequent in this scanner as it has an ultrasonic sensor and a small paper path. It can detect paper size and color automatically and enhance the quality of an image. It is priced between $700 and $900.
